Local Mission Projects

Reaching people starts at home!

Cypress Fellowship is now thirteen years old!  If you were to ask us how we measure our success, our answer would be:  “By the number of people we are able to lead to Jesus Christ”.  Our ultimate objective is to present the Gospel and then see that those that accept Him grow in faith.

We have had the opportunity to help start a Cowboy Church here in Cypress! We are glad to be a part of this effort.  After months of planning and preparation, the first service was held in January 2010.  As of January 2013, the church is going strong in number and in faith!  We know that God will continue to use this ministry to reach many people for Him!

After many years of continuous work as a volunteer chaplain in the Texas Prisons, Sam was ordained as a Community Outreach Pastor at Cypress Fellowship.  Since then, Sam has expanded his ministry to include the Harris County Jail in downtown Houston.

Sam meets face to face with the incarcerated to teach, evangelize, and bring life and liberty to those whom Jesus said, “I was in prison, and you visited me.” Matthew 25:36.

Please pray for Sam, Cypress Fellowship, and for the Holy Spirit to use him as a willing vessel for the furtherance of the Kingdom of God.

We are now a Church Partner with the Texas CSA! Through this program, we are able to offer opportunities for Christian Singers/Songwriters to share their gifts with our community! Here is some information about the organization: “Our mission is to promote faith-based songwriting and to increase the awareness of the gifted and anointed songwriters in Texas to churches, artists, venues, labels, and the general public, to mentor and guide new songwriters in the art of song crafting through workshops and competition, and to promote fellowship between Christian songwriters, artists, and publishers to further the Kingdom of God and His perfect plan for His children.” (taken from www.texascsa.com)
Our support helped the North American Mission Board send out 5,081 missionaries last year and help start over 1,700 new churches. Approximately 415,000 people were baptized last year as a result of our giving!

Foreign Missions Projects

Here are our missionaries!  They come by for a visit when they are in the States and they keep us updated on their ministries when they are on their mission field. Occasionally, we go and visit them! Stay tuned for information on our next missions trip!

As missionaries in Ivory Coast, West Africa, James and LaNelle George have started churches, trained national pastors, launched an evangelistic outreach program to remote villages called “Jungle Riders”, and opened an orphanage that currently houses 36 children!

As Founders of GAP Missions, this couple has helped other missionary families respond to God’s call to foreign missions through training, planning and support. Visit them at www.gapmissions.com for more on their activities and to sponsor an orphan!

With a Divine calling and a Supernatural love for the Kurds, the fourth largest people group in the Middle East, God is presenting them with the greatest Gift they could give…the Gospel of Christ.
Southern-BaptistWe also support many missionaries by participating in the mission program of the Southern Baptist Convention. Through the International Mission Board, we helped support 5,444 missionaries in different countries. Our gifts and prayers resulted in 565,967 (2008 Annual Statistical Report) new believers baptized in 2008 outside of North America.
a21logo1We support A21 Campaign. When confronted with the horrific statistics surrounding human trafficking, it is easy to agree on the fact that “someone should do something.” In 2007, A21 recognized the need to be that “someone” and committed to combat the injustice of human trafficking through rescuing one life at a time.

image001We were so excited to finally see the Republic of Ireland firsthand when we took our survey trip at the beginning of March 2014. It is such an incredible country, full of beautiful views and ancient castles. While we enjoyed seeing some of the sights, our goal was to get an idea of the culture and spend more time learning. Things have moved quickly since that first trip!

We have raised the necessary funds and are now living in this beautiful country full-time. Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support for our ministry! Reaching the Republic of Ireland, John, Emily, Abigail, and Josiah Slater.

We want to remind you that it is very important to pray for all missionary families and Christians that are living and working in the Middle East.
