Values & Beliefs

We Believe

“There is one Body and one Spirit… There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism and one God and Father of us all…” Eph 4:4-6

About God
We believe that there is one, and only one, living and true God—an infinite, intelligent Spirit, the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth. God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three personalities: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.

About Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless, human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven’s glory and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is a full and equal part of the Trinity. He works in the world to make all people understand their need for Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit lives (indwells) inside every follower of Jesus from the moment of Salvation. The Spirit is our power source for life, ministry and spiritual growth. To tap into that power, we must continually yield to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

About the Devil or Satan
We believe that Satan was once holy and enjoyed the heavenly honors; but through pride and ambition to be as God, fell and drew after him a host of angels; that he is now the wicked prince of the power of the air and the unholy god of this world. We hold him to be man’s great tempter, the enemy of God, the accuser of the saints, the author of all false religions. He is destined to final defeat at the hands of God’s own Son, and eternal banishment in hell, a place prepared for him and his angels.
Isa 14:12-15; Ezek 28:14-17; Jude 6; Rev 12:9

About the Bible
The Bible is God’s Word to us and was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. It is the Infallible, Inspired Word of God. It is absolute truth without any mixture of error. All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.
2 Tim 1:13, 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20, 21; Psalm 119:105, 160; 12:6

About Creation
We believe in the Genesis account of creation and that it is to be accepted literally, not allegorically or figuratively; that man was created directly in God’s own image and after His own likeness; that man’s creation was not a matter of evolution or evolutionary change of species or development through interminable periods of time from lower to higher forms; that all animal and vegetable life were created directly by God.
Gen 1:1; Ex 20;11; Acts 4:24; Col 1:16-17; Heb 11:3

About the Virgin Birth
We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten of the Holy Spirit, in a miraculous manner; born of Mary, a virgin, as no other man was ever born or can ever be born of woman, and that He is both (100%) God and man.
Matt Chapter 1&2; Luke Chapter 1; Isa 7:14

About the Fall of Man
People are made in the image of God; we are the supreme objects of God’s creation. Although every person has tremendous potential for good, all are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin”. Because sin entered the human race with Adam, we are born into sin. Our sin separates us from God.
Gen 1:27; 3:1-6; Psalm 8:3-6; Isa 53:6; Rom 3:23; 6:23; 5:12; Isa 59:1-2

About Salvation
Salvation is God’s free gift to us, through the person of Jesus Christ. We can never make up for our sin by self-improvement of good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God’s offer of forgiveness can anyone be saved from sin’s penalty. Salvation happens when an individual understands that they are a sinner and they repent of their sin and accept Christ, in faith, as their Savior. Eternal life and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit begin the moment one receives Jesus Christ in Faith. Since all are sinners, all are candidates for Salvation. Rom 3:23, 5:1, 6:23, 10:9, 10, 13; John 1:12, 3:16, 14:6; Eph 2:8-9; Gal 3:26; Titus 3:5

About Eternal Security
Because God gives us eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer can be secure in that salvation for eternity. If you have been genuinely saved, you cannot lose it. Salvation is an act of Grace and Mercy given to us freely. We did nothing to earn it and we can do nothing to lose it. We are saved by Faith and we have security by the promise of God. John 10:29; 2 Tim 1:12; Heb 7:25, 10:10, 14; 1 Peter 1:3-5

About the Church
We believe that a church is a congregation of baptized believers associated by a covenant of faith and fellowship to the gospel. The church is the citadel and propagator of the Divine and Eternal Grace; observing the ordinances of Christ; governed by His laws; exercising the gifts, rights and privileges invested in them by His word; that its’ officers are ordained pastors, elders, and deacons whose qualifications, claims and duties are clearly defined in the scriptures. We believe the true mission of the church is found in the Great Commission: First, to make individual disciples; Second, to build up the church; Third, to teach and instruct as He has commanded. We hold that the local church has the absolute right of self government, free from interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations; and that the one and only superintendent is Christ through the Holy Spirit; that it is scriptural for true churches to cooperate with each other in contending for the faith and for furtherance of the Gospel; the church is the sole and only judge of the measure and method of its cooperation with any outside group or groups. On all matters of membership, of policy, of government, of discipline, of benevolence, the will of the local church is final.
Acts 2:41-42, 6:5-6, 14:23, 15:22-23, 20:17-28, 1 Cor 12:4-11, 16:1, 6:1-3, 5:11-13; Eph 4:13; 1 Tim 3:1-13; Col 1:18; 1 Peter 5:1-4

About Heaven and Hell
We believe that there is a literal Heaven where all who are born again will live for eternity with God and a literal Hell where all who reject Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord will spend eternity.
Deut 26:15; 1 Kings 8:30; Psalm 73:25; Matt 6:19-20; John 14:2; Job 33:24; Matt 7:13, 13:37-42, 49-50; 2 Thes 1:9; Rev 9:19-21; 20:7-15

Church Ordinances
Baptism: The church will receive for baptism any person who has received Jesus Christ as Savior by personal faith and who indicates a commitment to follow Christ as Lord. Scriptural baptism will be by total immersion in water and administered as a public act of worship by the church. The candidate must understand baptism to be a symbol of the salvation that has already been accepted in the life of the believer by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
Lord’s Supper or Communion: The Lord’s Supper will be scheduled by the Pastor and will be observed as an act of worship and commitment. We practice “Open Communion” and encourage all who are believers to join us.

In All Other Matters
“Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters...Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls...then each of us will give an account of himself to God...so whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God.” Rom 14:1, 4, 12, 22

“...if I hold in my mind not only all human knowledge but also the very secrets of God, and if I have the faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I amount to nothing at all.” 1 Cor 13:2
